My sobriety date is 11 August 2023 and going strong till current.<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">For most of my courier I was a Business Intelligence Developer. This position is generally coupled with a degree. However, I was never afforded the opportunity to get one of those, my courier shifted that way and that is what became my profession.<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">Rehab was hard, but the most liberating experience of my life! I have had a life most would just drop their heads to and wonder how\u2026 There was a lot of fixing to do! Thereafter, currently and for always working the 12-step program founded by Bill W and Dr. Bob. I am a very proud and active member of the fellowship of AA.<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">Not having a degree in my main profession makes it hard to impossible to land a job in Business Intelligence. Making it worse is South Africa\u2019s employment equity policy, I truly am at the bottom of the list as far as employment goes.<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">After rehab I decided, with no funds, to start a business in high-end recovery merchandise. Caps, tags, shirts, (you get the idea) and the list I had in mind is lengthy.<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">I started with Recovery Tags\/ Coins\/ Chips. This seemed logical as I had zero funds to have stock made for the other merchandise. All I needed is a bit of resin to get me started. I needed to make custom moulds for this and although I managed somehow, the quality was not what I envisioned and the post processing was time-hungry. I managed to sell my car that I smashed one drunk afternoon (and had no money to repair) and bought my first 3D Printer. I obsessed on getting the moulds for the tags perfect and this led me down a rabbit-hole of designing complex models. The resin processing and silicone preparation further forces my knowledge in that I had to design tools for this that I could not otherwise afford, like pressure and vacuum chambers.
